What Clients Are Saying

Keith is simply the best leader that I have had the privilege of working under. To those he coaches and mentors, he lives the qualities of integrity, authenticity, loyalty, and respect that he espouses. These qualities underpin his comprehensive understanding of best practice leadership qualities and demonstrate that he can provide valuable mentoring and coaching across any sector or workplace. Keith has helped me become the leader, teacher, and person that I am today, and I could not recommend him any more highly.

Lachlan Hall, mid-career teacher.

When entering your first teaching position it can be difficult to know what to prioritise, how to juggle your various classes, find your style and rhythm whilst adapting to a new and challenging environment. With the right coaching and support, what at first can seem overwhelming becomes manageable and eventually fulfilling. With Keith’s coaching in my first year of teaching I was not only able to fulfil my teaching obligations but lead behaviour management initiatives, have success teaching ATAR and overall improve my sense of wellbeing. The skills and confidence gained from these sessions have stayed with me and helped me adapt and overcome new challenges presented throughout my career. I could not recommend this service enough.

Ashleigh Yukich, early-career teacher

As a middle manager and peer of Keith, we were often involved in leadership meetings, discussing policies, processes and systems. I was always impressed by Keith's knowledge and understanding of contemporary issues, his ability to clearly articulate an issue, and his passion for developing a growth culture in the team. He was invaluable to me as a leader, mentoring me formally, and coaching on an informal basis.

Middle manager, mid-career teacher.

The coaching process has helped me immensely in my first year of teaching. Coaching has become a support system during a crucial time in my career trajectory. The coaching process is transformative in how Keith sees teachers from a strengths-based perspective. During turbulent times of the school year, I often found myself being self-critical and, at my lowest points, reconsidering the teaching profession. Keith's facilitation of creating a culture of reflection would see me leaving each session with renewed positivity, motivation and determination. Keith always makes you feel safe and comfortable to have vulnerable discussions about what you've been experiencing. I recommend Keith's coaching to anyone who wants to embrace a growth mindset and utilise their teaching toolkit.

Ainsley McLatchie, newly qualified teacher.

Keith is a sensational leader who enabled me to develop significantly during the time that I worked with him. He genuinely cares about the wellbeing of staff under his care and presents them with opportunities to grow. Keith has high expectations of those around him but is generous with his time and ensures that you feel supported and valued. He sets targets that are achievable for each individual and this brings with it a great sense of accomplishment. Keith set aside time every week to support, mentor and coach his staff through a variety of issues.

He is an excellent communicator who is always articulate and reasoned in his responses. Keith is very clear in his messaging and was adept at securing buy-in from colleagues to support the rationale behind decision-making. I witnessed many difficult conversations where, in a non-threatening manner, his honesty and integrity were paramount in driving accountability amongst his peers. In modelling these qualities, the teams he developed became similarly equipped in how they collaborated, which led to a greater sense of meaning, purpose, well-being, value and dynamism amongst them.

Keith has unparalleled knowledge of teaching and learning methodologies and is held in the highest regard by his peers. This is due to his ideas, thoughts and suggestions being deeply considered and fine-tuned through experience. I witnessed, daily, people seeking out Keith’s opinion on a vast array of educational questions and queries.

Ryan Walker, Middle Manager & late-career teacher.

Keith is an outstanding leader and a great motivator of people who is able to quickly build trust within a team. He is a strong and transparent communicator who takes a collaborative approach towards colleagues’ development. Keith is an excellent person to work with because he genuinely cares about people. By his very nature he creates an exciting, dynamic and energetic work environment that succeeds despite the challenges and demands that schools often face. A really rewarding aspect of Keith’s leadership is his coaching approach where he takes the time to meet staff individually and understand how best to personally support them. This was integral to staff reaching their full potential and contributing to the success of the team.. Often, I would leave our conversations with renewed optimism and inspired to challenge myself further.

For the better part of a decade, I had the pleasure to work alongside Keith. He wore many hats in his role as Head of Department, such as recruiting and developing new staff members and cultivating a cohesive team of dedicated professionals. He led his staff to create a culture of collaboration and excellence, all the while maintaining high standards and expectations for himself and those within the Humanities team. On a personal level he was simultaneously to me, a mentor, role model and advisor. Keith was consistently available and willing to provide learned advice to resolve issues or to assist in developing my pedagogical skills in the classroom. As a coach, Keith generously provided his time to personally help me to plan for and create strategies to enhance me as a teacher and as a staff member within the team.

What Clients Are Saying

As a leader in another unit of the regiment, I greatly valued Ged’s professional approach to mentoring me as a newly promoted Company Commander. He was pragmatic, sensitive to my needs, and a great source of knowledge about people management. He has a calm measured approach to coaching, and enabled me to voice concerns, make suggestions, and consider different courses of action in a non-judgmental environment.

Major Bridge, Company Commander.

I came across Mr Ged McCann when I was searching for a tutor with experience in teaching chemistry to university level as I was studying to be a Vet. Ged quickly identified my strengths and weaknesses and helped me to become more organised. His content knowledge is exceptional. He challenged every answer I gave, encouraged me to explain my thinking, and taught me how to apply my new learning.

Reyhah, First Year Vet Science student.

Ged has vast experience as a leader, coach and mentor. As a middle leader within a school, I found his coaching sessions invaluable in helping me get beyond the issues and obstacles I was experiencing. He took a patient approach and challenged my perspective respectfully, so that I was able to make those breakthroughs as a leader. He was able to show me how to make effective use of data to improve performance by encouraging me and my team to take an evidence-based approach to giving feedback and setting challenging goals. I recommend his services to anyone who wants to be the best they can be.

Darren, Head of PE.

Mr McCann came highly recommended by other students in my school as someone who had turned them around. He has a great understanding of chemistry. He helped me to go from a failing score of 37% in semester one, to scoring 66% in the final ATAR exam. I will be forever grateful to him as I am now pursuing a career as a chemical engineer.

Leila, Year 12 Chemistry student.

It was a pleasure to be Ged’s colleague for a number of years and experience informal and incidental coaching from him. Often, I would be encountering issues at work and not even realise Ged was coaching me through them during our conversations. He has great listening skills and is very astute with his questions. I often came away from our conversations feeling more positive about my performance. Probably the greatest compliment is that he was able to get me to identify the real issue behind problems, and they were often not what I believed was holding me back. He enabled me to utilise my strengths in a more effective way.

Our son was failing all subjects, not just chemistry. We came across Mr McCann via the school's database of tutors. From the moment we made contact, we knew we had made the right decision. He spent an hour talking with Christopher, discussing his interests, his preferred learning style, and career ambitions. After he completed a survey, Mr McCann gave us a detailed report about where Christopher was, what he needed to do, and suggested a programme specifically for him. This was all done for free. Christopher went on to do twenty-two lessons with Mr McCann and made steady improvements. More importantly, his whole attitude to school improved. He passed all subjects and achieved an ATAR of 87.5. Remarkable considering he was a failing student.
